Hydro-Sponge filter provides both mechanical and biological filtration. Aerobic bacteria colonize the sponge providing a bacterial substance to facilitate the nitrogen cycle. In addition, the Hydro-Sponge traps larger waste particles mechanically cleaning the water without trapping the baby fish.
